DIZON gives a work a unique digital identity. It combines an Artwork Identity containing the essential work information with a digital certificate whose record is secured on the blockchain.

This permanently connects the work, its certificate and its information. Additional content and communication features can be added and updated with an active Membership.

• Artwork Identity: the unique digital record for a work.
• Certificate: the blockchain-secured record assigned to its owner in the DIZON Wallet.
• Identity Card: a physical or printable access point to the Artwork Identity. It points to the same record but is not a separate certificate.

DIZON makes the issued certificate record unique, traceable and resistant to unnoticed later changes. The issuing person or institution remains responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.

The blockchain documents the certificate and its history. It does not replace art-historical expertise, material examination or legal due diligence.

Artists, galleries, studios, publishers, collectors, estates, museums, designers, manufacturers and other rights holders can use DIZON to document individual works or editions.

DIZON can be used for physical, digital and conceptual works or objects that need a unique identity and a traceable certificate record.

Yes. A digital work can receive its own Artwork Identity and individual blockchain record. Work data, preview images, technical information and suitable references can be connected to that identity.

The work itself does not need to be stored in full on the blockchain. What matters is the unambiguous connection between the certified work and its record.

A suitable DIZON identifier can be attached permanently to the work, its frame or its reverse. Placement should be discreet, appropriate for the material and compatible with conservation requirements.

Additional Identity Cards can be placed or distributed anywhere and point to the same Artwork Identity. The permanent identifier connects the specific object; the cards serve as flexible information and communication tools.

The work should be defined as precisely as possible through its title, creator, date, rules of execution, media, files or other clear references. DIZON documents this defined identity and the certificate record issued for it.

No. A DIZON code can be scanned with the standard camera on a modern smartphone. The Artwork Identity opens directly in the web browser. No separate app or account is required simply to view and verify it.

The DIZON Wallet becomes relevant when an owner wants to receive and manage the certificate.

The scan opens the Artwork Identity and the information released for that work. This can include core details such as artist, title, year, medium, dimensions and edition, as well as additional stories, images, documents, links or contact options.

Yes. Alongside text and images, small animations or other web-compatible media can enrich the experience. A scan could reveal a creative process, a short movement, an audio layer or additional context.

Publishing and updating this additional content requires an active Membership.

Yes. The Identity Card and identifier continue to point to the same Artwork Identity. Additional published content can be updated without producing a new code or new cards.

Yes. Every edition work is an individual work and receives its own Artwork Identity, Identity Card and blockchain entry. This keeps the certificate, edition number and ownership clearly assigned to the specific example.

The descriptive artwork information is managed at edition level and displayed for the edition as a whole. The certificate, edition number, identity and ownership assignment remain individual to each example.

Yes. A damaged or lost card can be replaced. Multiple cards can also be printed for the same work, placed beside it, included with packaging or given to interested visitors and collectors.

Every card points to the same Artwork Identity. Additional cards do not create additional certificates.

No. The card can be used flexibly. For a permanent connection to a physical work, a separate suitable identifier should be attached directly to the object, frame or reverse. Identity Cards can be placed or distributed independently.

Editions can be organised as a connected series. Each example still receives its own identity and certificate. For larger editions or institutional workflows, we recommend discussing the process directly with DIZON.

No. The authenticity certificate on the blockchain, including the basic Artwork Identity, does not require an active Membership.

A Membership is required to publish and update additional information or share it through Identity Cards and other digital touchpoints.

The blockchain-secured certificate record and basic Artwork Identity remain in place. Membership-dependent additional features may be limited after the active term ends. The certificate itself is not cancelled.

The blockchain creates a permanent, time-stamped certificate record that cannot be changed later without detection. This supports unambiguous assignment and documents the certificate’s history.

Yes. When ownership of the work changes, its certificate can be transferred as well. Assignment of the certificate in the Wallet reflects current ownership of the Artwork Identity while the history remains traceable.

The Artwork Identity displays the information intended and released for the work. Private or sensitive data should not be published as public artwork information. For additional content, the responsible issuer decides what viewers can see.

An Identity Card can be issued again. For a permanently attached identifier, its connection to the specific work should be carefully checked and documented before replacement. The existing certificate and Artwork Identity remain unaffected.

Contact DIZON Support with the available work and certificate information. After verifying identity and authorisation, the appropriate recovery process can be initiated.

The DIZON Wallet gives artwork owners access to their assigned Artwork Identities and enables them to receive and transfer ownership records. It is a self-custody wallet: you control access, not DIZON.

The recovery phrase is a unique sequence of words created for your wallet. It is the key that can restore access if your phone is lost, damaged or replaced.

Write the words down in the exact order and keep them in a secure private location.

No. DIZON does not know or store your recovery phrase. If it is lost, DIZON cannot restore access to that wallet.

Your recovery phrase must never be entered on the DIZON website or sent to Support.

No. DIZON Support will never ask for your recovery phrase. Anyone who obtains it may be able to control your wallet. Never share it with another person.

Write it down on paper and store it offline in a secure private location. Keep the words complete and in the correct order. Do not send the phrase by email, save it in an online document, enter it on a website or photograph it for convenient storage.

Install the DIZON Wallet on the replacement device and restore the wallet using your recovery phrase. DIZON cannot perform this restoration for you.

Treat the wallet as compromised. Do not send the phrase to DIZON. Create a new secure wallet and transfer the relevant assets or ownership records as soon as possible. Support can explain the available process but will never request the phrase itself.
